Do your customers trust you? If not, you can expect to be continually finding new customers, a task a lot more time consuming than selling to established customers who have bought from you before. For affiliate marketers, you don’t want to rely on the product maker to take care of the customer. First, make sure your customers can contact you with questions and problems. Sure, the merchant will take most of the complaints, but if you have some insight into how a product works and can help a customer, you have now positioned yourself as trustworthy. And your future recommendations with be taken seriously.
Once a person begins the process of gathering information on the product you are selling, it should be easy for them to navigate your site, find links, read your reviews, etc. First time visitors will click away quickly if they get snagged in finding what they want.
Having a user-friendly website indicates to the consumer that you’re prepared and safe to do business with. Posting a telephone number and email address also demonstrates that you’re willing to be contacted for more information and that assures you’re customer that you’re trustworthy. Creating an “About Us” page is also a helpful tool, as you’ll be able to share a little bit about yourself and your company.
Establishing a bond with your customer increases your chances of success. Including testimonials can help you highlight the product, enforce credibility, and increase sales. If customers are pleased with your product and the service, giving you a testimonial is a great way for them to say thanks.
You need to distinguish yourself from other marketers who are marketing the same products. To do that you need to offer more. Give more information to presell your customer. Make the process easier than others. Be sure that your sales process includes safe credit card transactions.
You likely won’t be dealing with many customer complaints, but nevertheless, you could offer a guarantee or a bonus product from your site. In fact sometimes the bonus can be what makes the sale.
Developing trust with your customers means doing the right thing. And as in all of life, doing the right thing with people, even if it takes extra effort, will pay big dividends to your affiliate marketing business.
